Biggest Level Up Moments

Looking back on how you’ve developed as a player - what were the biggest “A Ha” moments you’ve had that helped you step into that next level? What did you struggle with most consistently as you found your particular play style/preferred decks and how did you overcome that?

For me, I struggled the most (and still struggle the most) with window identification. I often feel like the bird who flies into a glass door because it’s so clean that it looks open. Only to find that it never was. (:

The thing I’ve improved the most at, I think, is realizing how powerful my words are. It doesn’t need to be 11 Hour Game Politics KeK to be effective. Just simply asking your opponents questions goes SO far.

I can dig on this. I also struggle with finding my window when I’m on turbo. My biggest level ups lately have been the last few months of playing RogSi almost exclusively. The deck has a reputation for being smooth brained but the decision tree for any given hand is not only intricate but can drastically change from draw to draw. It’s maybe the most fun to solitaire just for that reason right there.

I still struggle a bit with politicking and have settled into a place where my strategy is to point out when others are being politicked lol. Finding a style which doesn’t feel aggressive, bitchy, or otherwise rude has been a priority for me because I personally don’t like being given a bunch of guff because Player B thinks I’m not doing something advantageous to them.

ive definitely leveled up my yapping in the past year or so. but i agree it doesnt need to be something that youre doing constantly, just asking specific questions at the right time is everything. as well as knowing when you have to make a deal to reach the best outcome.
