Malcolm / ghb is spicy! just curious about the winds of change… it doesn’t work with Norman, does it?
I will fully admit that because I don’t get to play much and haven’t put this through the ringer I completed misread that card.
So yea! Free spot!
Probably will become a Desperate Ravings or Seize the Spoils.
I also found Burning Vengeance which could be a fun removal esque effect.
How do you expect to pull off the Glinthorn combo reliably? It feels like Malcolm+Glint could be replaced with something better.
I wanted something different and extra to Thassa’s Oracle.
In theory you’re wheeling and digging so much through your deck that you can find them naturally or with tutors.
Though Malcom in addition with the other pirates also works as ramp of sorts to simply generate treasures on contact. Malcom could very easily just cost one with a mayhem cast.
I had considered wanting to include a Kefka package of sorts since but that I think may be forcing it too much.
I very much am not aiming right off the bat to just go straight into Malcom + Glinthorn. I want to play a more midrange deck.
They could be replaced with more generic removal or interaction but I wanted to try to avoid being too similar to other Grixis piles, at least oft a while.
And maybe it works out that way in the end but it’s just a thought.
I think it’s pretty dead. I would just rely on Thassa+Breach for your main wincons. The rest of the cards should be supporting in some way.
Probably right, I know a lot less than you about the format to be sure.
I felt that it probably would go that way. Wanted to see if something different could be good.
It will free up some slots for some more redundancies and interaction.
Thanks for the feedback.
